I looooooove bath bombs! But they’re too spendy to do all the time for a girl on a budget (ahem, me all day, every day). So instead of buying some artificially colored bath bomb from the mall, I decided to make my own, all-natural version with the scents I love. They have a sparkling orange color form the Alaea Sea Salt, tinted from the Hawaiian clay it’s derived from and a heavenly aroma of spruce, lavandin and orange.

My first stop for any project like this is Rainbow Natural Remedies, a Seattle-based apothecary specializing in natural remedies. They helped me choose the right essential oils and healing salts for a calm soak on a cold day. I played around with the proportions of the essential oils for a while before finding the right balance, so think of this recipe as a jumping off point to create the perfect bath bomb just for you!
